A few hours ago, Henry Cavill posted the below picture to Instagram with nothing but the hashtag “#Superman”.  What does this mean?

Many of us remember a sad time for comic book fans back in the early 90’s.  The countdown that appeared on the front of the Superman comics, leading up to the ads for “Doomsday is Coming”.  Little did we know then that Superman would meet HIS Doomsday.  After the Death of Superman and Funeral for a Friend, there was a three month hiatus for all of the Superman comics.  Everyone was confused.  Did we really see the death of one of the most iconic characters in comic book history?

we saw the resurrection of Superman after the Reign of the Supermen, and upon his return, he donned long, black hair, and a suit made of black with a silver “S” on his chest.

Could this be DC and WB melding such an important part of the Superman legacy for us 30-somethings with the new Justice League movie coming out?  At this time, we can only speculate, and hope that DC and WB listen to the fans after Man of Steel, BvS, and Suicide Squad.  Here’s to hoping we see a Superman return sooner than later.
